Lotus Achieves Major Milestone In Ten West Link Transmission Project

PHOENIX, Arizona (September 4, 2018) – DCR Transmission, LLC (DCRT) welcomed the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Ten West Link transmission project.  The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced the commencement of a 90-day public comment period on the DEIS and the preferred alternative route for the project.

“We commend all the agencies, stakeholders, and the public for their participation in this exhaustive environmental review and analysis of Ten West Link,” said Himanshu Saxena, the Managing Director and CEO of DCRT.  “The DEIS represents a major milestone in the regional stakeholder process.  We look forward to participating in BLM’s 90-day comment period and ultimately receiving a Record of Decision.”

Ten West Link will create value for energy users because it seeks to strengthen the high-voltage electric grid between Arizona and California.   BLM’s issuance of the DEIS comes at a time when both states are experiencing shifting energy policy driven by technological advancements, population growth and consumer demand.  Regional transmission projects like Ten West are viewed as a critical component of future Western energy needs.

About Ten West: Ten West Link is a proposed transmission project that would provide a reliable 500 kV electric connection between substations near Tonopah, Arizona and Blythe, California.
