Management
Himanshu Saxena is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lotus Infrastructure Partners and is responsible for supervision of the Firm’s investment program and strategy, as well as overall management of the Firm. Over the course of his career, Mr. Saxena has led the acquisition and development of numerous power generation and transmission projects and midstream and downstream assets in North America, with an aggregate enterprise value of more than $13 billion.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor Starwood Energy in February 2008, Mr. Saxena was an investment banker with JPMorgan’s global energy and utilities group. Before that, Mr. Saxena worked at American Electric Power, where he focused on managing financial risks in the power trading business and on optimizing a power generation portfolio. Mr. Saxena was previously a Chemical Engineer at industrial gases company Praxair (now Linde), where he filed for several patents.
Mr. Saxena currently serves on the Advisory Board at Cornell University’s Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP), as a Board Member for the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), and on the Advisory Council of Cornell Energy Systems Institute.
Mr. Saxena earned a Master of Business Administration from Duke University, where he was a Fuqua Scholar, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay, India.
Investment Team
Alex Daberko is a Managing Director of Lotus Infrastructure Partners where he plays a key role in many of the Firm’s M&A and development transactions, across conventional and renewable generation, transmission, and renewable fuels. Mr. Daberko has led Lotus’ wind development efforts, successfully financing and constructing six projects totaling more than 1,100 megawatts. Mr. Daberko serves on the Board of Directors of BerQ RNG, Lotus’ renewable natural gas platform, and Allium Renewable Energy, Lotus’ development platform for utility-scale renewable projects.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in December 2007, Mr. Daberko was part of the Energy & Power Investment Banking team at Merrill Lynch, where he specialized in commodity and commodity-linked transactions.
Mr. Daberko holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Yale University.
Philipp Pletka is a Managing Director of Lotus Infrastructure Partners where he plays a key role in the Firm’s investment activities.
Mr. Pletka joined Lotus' predecessor in April 2018 from BlackRock’s Energy & Power private equity team, where he was actively involved in implementing the division’s growth strategy within BlackRock’s Real Assets direct investment platform.
Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Pletka was a director at Quantum Energy Partners where his primary responsibilities included evaluating, structuring, implementing, and managing investments in the power, midstream and upstream sectors.
Mr. Pletka started his career in JPMorgan’s Natural Resources Investment Banking team. Mr. Pletka holds a Bachelor of Science in Analytical Finance from Wake Forest University.
Ali Amirali is a Senior Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for the construction of Lotus’ Delaney-Colorado River high-voltage transmission assets, as well as for new business/project opportunities in the transmission and distribution arena in North America. He also supports the origination, development and acquisition activities associated with utility-scale power generation and storage projects.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in August 2010, Mr. Amirali held a variety of key technical and leadership positions at Element Power, LS Power, Calpine Corp., California Independent System Operator and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. He has participated in the development and interconnection of more than 5,000 megawatts of electric generation in the Western U.S. and Mexico and has developed and managed several large transmission line projects designed to improve reliability, reduce congestion, and deliver energy from thermal and renewable resources.
Mr. Amirali received a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University, a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management from the University of Colorado, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University.
Anik Gandhi is a Principal of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for principal investing and asset management within the energy infrastructure sector.
He was actively involved in the acquisition of Quail Run Energy Center and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Radial Power, Lotus’ commercial and industrial solar platform company. Mr. Gandhi also leads the capital markets and divestiture activities for Lotus’ transmission portfolio.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in April 2014, Mr. Gandhi was an Associate at Goldman Sachs in the Global Natural Resources Investment Banking group, where he focused on transactions involving regulated utilities, merchant generators, and conventional generation assets. His responsibilities included analyzing potential merger and acquisition opportunities, understanding potential impacts of market regulations on generation assets, developing client pitchbooks and performing industry transaction due diligence.
Mr. Gandhi holds a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.
David Siegel is a Principal of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for principal investing and asset management in the energy infrastructure sector.
He was actively involved in the acquisition of Lavaca Midstream as well as the ongoing development of the NeuVentus platform. Mr. Siegel also provides support for capital market and divesture activities for Lotus’ conventional power portfolios.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in June 2019, Mr. Siegel was a Vice President of Beowulf Energy, where he focused on opportunistic operational and distressed power investments. His responsibilities also included asset management functions, such as portfolio financing, asset redevelopment and power/capacity optimization.
Mr. Siegel holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Financial Analysis from the State University of New York at Albany.
William Ouyang is a Principal of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for principal investing and asset management in the energy infrastructure sector. Mr. Ouyang has played a key role in the acquisition and development of Lotus’ utility-scale wind and solar projects, as well as in the acquisition of Allium Renewable Energy, Lotus’ development platform for utility-scale renewable projects.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in August 2013, Mr. Ouyang was an Analyst in Citigroup’s Alternative Energy Finance group, where he worked primarily on renewable energy transactions involving wind, solar photovoltaic, and solar concentrated solar power facilities.
Mr. Ouyang holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Statistics, and Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
Abraham Kepes is a Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for principal investing and asset management in the energy infrastructure sector.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in June 2018, Mr. Kepes was an Analyst in Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure and Energy Group, where he focused on principal investment in the power and utilities space. His responsibilities included conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities, asset management, development, and supporting asset sale processes.
Prior to Macquarie, Mr. Kepes was part of the project finance group at CIT Bank, specializing in power and infrastructure projects.
Mr. Kepes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College.
Akshat Podar is a Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for principal investing and asset management in the energy infrastructure sector. He has been actively involved in the acquisition, development, and asset management of BerQ RNG, Lotus’ renewable natural gas platform, and the acquisition of Lavaca Midstream.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in 2019, Mr. Podar was an Analyst in Citigroup’s Project & Infrastructure Finance group. His responsibilities included conducting due diligence and executing acquisition and financing-related transactions across the power, energy, and infrastructure industries in the North American and Latin American markets.
Mr. Podar holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Finance Concentration, along with a Markets and Management Certificate from Duke University.
Asset Management Team
Jeffrey Delgado is a Managing Director and Head of Asset Management of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for the asset management and commercial optimization of Lotus’ assets and serves on the boards of portfolio companies. In addition, Mr. Delgado supports acquisition, development, and construction activities. Mr. Delgado has over 30 years of experience leading the commercial management, optimization, and operations of energy infrastructure including power generation (renewable and thermal), steam facilities, midstream gas, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, battery storage development, distributed generation (C&I solar, storage, and EV charging) and transmission systems.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in April 2015, Mr. Delgado was a Director of Business Management at Caithness Energy, where he was responsible for asset management and operations oversight of sixteen projects totaling over $3 billion.
Mr. Delgado began his career at Con Edison, where he held various operating positions at the utility’s power generation and substation facilities, as well as asset management and operations responsibilities for Con Edison’s unregulated subsidiary PJM assets.
Mr. Delgado holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Investments from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic University.
Cheng Chang is a Senior Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he leads energy management, commercial strategy and market analysis for Lotus’ energy portfolios. Mr. Chang's responsibilities include near-term dispatch strategies, term trading, and risk management (front, middle, and back office), as well as origination and long-term supplies/offtakes for thermal and renewable power generation and fuels, carbon capture, utilization, and storage. In addition, Mr. Chang supports due diligence, acquisition, and development of investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in August 2017, Mr. Chang led the global commercial and development teams of Intergen where he was responsible for asset management, origination, structuring and operations oversight of eighteen gas, coal, wind, compression stations and pipeline projects in Australia, Europe, Mexico and U.S. markets totaling over $4 billion.
Mr. Chang began his career at GDF Suez (now Engie) where he held various positions in strategic planning, M&A, finance, commercial and marketing, focusing on the deregulated power and gas markets in North America.
Mr. Chang is a graduate of Tsinghua University and Stanford University.
Tim Gusick is a Senior Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for asset management and optimization, project development and market analysis for Lotus’ energy infrastructure portfolio. In addition, he supports acquisition and risk management activities.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in August 2021, Mr. Gusick was a Vice President at Eastern Generation responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, market and financial analysis and commercial asset optimization for a fleet of merchant power plants located in NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM, and MISO.
Prior to working at Eastern Generation, Tim was a Senior Commercial Associate at Equipower Resources, a merchant independent power producer with assets located in NYISO, PJM and ISO-NE. Mr. Gusick started his career as an investment banking analyst at Auria Capital, responsible for financial analysis of energy and infrastructure M&A transactions.
Mr. Gusick holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fordham University.
Wendy Gu, CFA, is a Vice President of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, she is responsible for asset management and optimization of Lotus’ operating assets and supports acquisition and development opportunities.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in December 2017, Ms. Gu was an Analyst in ING’s Structured Finance group, where she worked in the Utilities, Power & Renewables team, covering project finance and leveraged finance transactions within the Power sector.
Ms. Gu is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
Legal
Jeffrey Levy is Managing Director, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he advises from a legal perspective on all aspects of the business, including acquisitions, financing transactions, development and asset management, and fund structuring and governance.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in January 2021, Mr. Levy was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Atlantic Power Corporation, a cross-listed (NYSE and TSX) independent power producer, where he was responsible for all the corporation’s legal affairs. Previously, he was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at First Wind Energy, LLC and before that Counsel at Ameresco, Inc.
Before his roles as in-house counsel, Mr. Levy practiced law in the Finance and Capital Markets group at Edwards & Angell LLP (which has since merged into Locke Lord LLP) and in the Private Equity/M&A group at Choate Hall & Stewart LLP.
Mr. Levy earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, where he was Note Editor of the Law Review, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with distinction, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Levy is also a licensed professional civil engineer.
Finance & Accounting
David Arbia is a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is responsible for financial reporting to investors, tax structuring and compliance, cash management, and fundraising. Mr. Arbia works closely with both the investment team and the asset management team as it relates to deal structuring, financial/tax diligence, and financial reporting/compliance for certain portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in December 2013, Mr. Arbia served as the Controller of Credit Suisse USA subsidiary Asset Management Finance LLC, where he oversaw an investment portfolio consisting of $700 million in assets. Prior to that, Mr. Arbia was an Audit Manager in the financial services division at Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Arbia is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Dylan Horowitz is a Vice President and Controller of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he leads the financial reporting and cash management processes. Mr. Horowitz also provides support on tax compliance, SEC reporting, the investment valuation process, design and implementation of internal controls and entity management.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in June 2017, Mr. Horowitz was an Audit Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he worked primarily within the Asset Management Alternative Investment practice.
Mr. Horowitz is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Ithaca College.
Sean Tompkins is a Vice President and Treasurer of Lotus Infrastructure Partners. In this role, he is primarily responsible for maintaining banking relationships for the investment funds and ensuring compliance with internal controls related to cash management and payments to third parties.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in October 2022, Mr. Tompkins was an integral part of the broader treasury team at Starwood Capital Group, where he gained extensive experience in the areas of treasury operations, systems, and control processes surrounding fund movements. Before that, he was an Accounting Operations Manager at Bridgewater Associates, where he worked primarily within the Finance Operations team.
Mr. Tompkins received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Fairfield University.
Investor Relations
Antonia Schwartz is a Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations of Lotus Infrastructure Partners with responsibility for our fundraising and ongoing investor communication efforts.
Prior to joining Lotus in June 2023, Ms. Schwartz held comparable roles at the Private Equity investment firms, Waud Capital Partners, LLC in Chicago and Bregal Investments in New York as well as at the infrastructure investment firm, Alinda Capital Partners, LLC in Greenwich, CT. She began her career in the commercial and investment bank at Citigroup, Inc.
Ms. Schwartz holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Olga Bruce is responsible for investor relations, marketing, fundraising and public relations activities at Lotus Infrastructure Partners. Mrs. Bruce has over 15 years of experience in investor relations in Private Equity.
Prior to joining Lotus' predecessor in May 2005, Mrs. Bruce worked in The Quantitative Analysis Group at Citigroup Asset Management.
Mrs. Bruce holds a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College.
